Caregiver Connections
Compassionate caregiver matches made simple and stress-free.
Caring for a loved one is a big responsibility, and finding the right help can feel overwhelming. Africare is here to walk alongside you, making the process simple and supportive. We help families understand their care needs, connect with compassionate and capable caregivers, and feel confident in their choice.
Even after a caregiver is selected, Africare stays by your side. Through our AfterCare program, we remain involved for the first 60 days to check in, answer questions, and ensure the match is working well for your family.
After that, your family manages the relationship directly, giving you both flexibility and peace of mind. With Africare, you never have to navigate this journey alone.

Our Core Beliefs
Elders are Sacred
Across African cultures, elders are held in the highest esteem. We treat each client with that same reverence, ensuring they feel valued, heard, and empowered — not diminished.
We Are Because You Are
We believe in collective care — that the wellbeing of one affects us all. Our caregivers work in partnership with families to promote balance, independence, and connection.
Your Home, Your Culture
We support clients in maintaining their traditions — from cooking foods they recognize, listening to music that brings happy memories, playing games that they love, to practicing their faith. Culture is care.
What Makes Us Standout?
-
Culturally competent caregiving — every staff member receives training in cultural humility, empathy, and trauma-informed care.
-
Language- and values-aligned caregiver matching — when possible, we pair clients with caregivers who understand their cultural background.
-
Faith-respectful care — whether Christian, Muslim, spiritual-but-not-religious, we adapt our support respectfully.
-
Community partnerships — we collaborate with churches, community centers, and elders’ groups to stay grounded and responsive.
-
Holistic wellness — emotional and spiritual health matter as much as physical wellbeing.

"Africare was such a blessing for my parents. They took the time to know our family, and it showed in the way they cared. From everyday care, hospital stays to traveling with my parents, they always went above and beyond. Living far away was hard, but I never had to worry they made my parents feel safe and loved."

"Working at Africare has been a really good experience for me. The families I’ve worked with have all been kind and respectful, and that makes such a difference. The pay here is better than a lot of other agencies I’ve worked for, but what I appreciate most is how the company supports me and pushes me toward my goals. It’s nice working somewhere that actually cares about you, not just the job you do."
-Shawna, Africare Caregiver
When my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, her health needs escalated quickly, and I felt overwhelmed. A friend recommended Lynn Puryear of Africare, and I will be forever grateful.
She not only connected us with compassionate and capable caregivers but also guided me through one of the most difficult times of my life. Her expertise and genuine care made me feel supported every step of the way.
As my mother’s needs have changed, Africare has continued to be there—always ready with solutions, staffing, and encouragement. Their ongoing commitment has been a true blessing to our family, and I cannot thank them enough.
